This study from Sweden suggests a link between Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2) and particulate matter (PM) pollution emissions and mental disorders in children;

While particulates (PM2.5 and PM10) are widely recognized and reported as the danger in air pollution, this is a study that also emphasizes the link between elevated levels of NO2 and human health.

The referenced research paper is available online at http://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/6/6/e010004.full, and the researchers of course don’t make the small error the article writer did in reporting PM2.5 as NO2 PM2.5 (these are two separate pollutants).

Blue Marble Labs is targeting NO2 sensing in our first wearable device, along with the other widely recognized urban air pollution gas, ground level ozone (O3), enabling personal monitoring of these important and dangerous pollutants. With our device people will be able to avoid the worst pollutant hot spots in their region, helping protect themselves, their children and their elders from repeated exposure to the highest concentration spots.
